The entry requirements, duration, and what to expect

This apprenticeship programme is open to applications from anyone who graduated from university with an Aeronautical Engineering degree and are keen to take this opportunity to help shape a positive future for the aviation industry.

If you’re one of the chosen candidates, you’ll embark on a 2-year development journey that is fully aligned with the ILM Leadership and Management programme, developing knowledge, skills and behaviours through embedded learning that will require you to demonstrate your learnings in Virgin Atlantic’s innovative, high-impact working environments.

The first six months focuses on hand skills enhancement in a live aviation environment. Following this, you’ll work through a variety of modules and complete your CAP 741 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Logbook. Along the way, you’ll be guided by your Coach, who’ll also assess you and your development throughout the programme.
