ASTI Projects

Under ASTI framework, 26 major electricity transmission and connection projects are set to be fast-tracked, which will not only boost grid capacity and enable offshore wind power to be delivered to UK consumers sooner, but deliver estimated savings of £1.5billion too.

These projects include significant network development, cable linking, and the construction of ‘electricity superhighways’. This will enable the creation of new infrastructure, allowing more renewable energy to be brought onto the grid, and reinforcement and upgrading of existing networks to boost capacity and enable more efficient power delivery to where it’s needed.

Roles and Opportunities

The success of the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) projects and their ability to achieve the governments 2030 renewable energy goals will of course be driven by the skills, expertise and passion of people.

The projects require experts for roles in a variety of sectors, including:

• Construction Management
• Civil Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Site/Field Engineering

Due to the nationwide scale of these projects, roles will be available in locations around the UK, with all offering long-term employment opportunities.
