Mechatronics/ Design Engineer

Carbon60 is working with a well known electric company based in Lisburn in Northern Ireland, for a Mechatronic/ Design Engineer. The role is on a long term contract.

Summary of Mechatronic/ Design Engineer Role:
The role will be working on all aspects of Mechatronic/Mechanical Engineering from design to testing, and certification. As well as supporting the global supply chain to sustain and improve manufacturing/supplier processes.

Role:
- Support a variety of projects across the business.
- Developing Mechanical Designs using CAD modelling.
- Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical/Mechatronics (or equivalent with experience).
- Proven experience in complex mechanical/electrical systems.
- Competency in designing machined metal & sheet metal parts.
- 'Hands on' approach to design & testing (ability to assemble and modify prototypes etc.).


Desirable Requirements:
- Experience working in the power/utilities industry.
- Knowledge of Hydraulic/Pneumatic control Systems.
- Experience using FMEA, RCA, 8D tools.
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- CAD experience - Solidworks and/ or AutoCAD
