Mechanical Operator/Assembler - Chalgrove, Oxfordshire - £27k plus excellent benefits

This company, the world's leading manufacturer of ejection seats, are looking to recruit a Mechanical Operator/Assembler at their prestigious site in Chalgrove, Oxfordshire. You will play in integral part in helping to protect aircrew in the world's most advanced military aircraft by undertaking a variety of processes including pyro proofing of pyrotechnic devices.

Salary: £27k plus excellent benefits

Location: Chalgrove, Oxfordshire

Hours of work: 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 12 Midday on Fridays.

Mechanical Operator/Assembler Responsibilities:

  • Identification of Proof Chamber Parts to drawing, Assembly and disassembly of Chambers assemblies, Cleaning of Chambers and detail components
  • Set up appropriate firing mechanisms.
  • Load Cartridge/ Rocket Motors
  • Arm Cartridge/ Rocket Motors
  • Fire Cartridge/ Rocket Motors
  • Collect and analyse firing data.
  • Work to correct QAI's, Tech Notes and Identification of Correct drawings.
  • Updating SAP
  • Safe using of ovens and freezers and programming of conditioning chamber timers.
  • Pressure testing of proof chambers

The successful candidate:

  • Basic understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings.
  • A completer finisher - i.e. someone who always finishes off a task with no loose ends.
  • Comfortable working under time pressures to balance priorities to agreed deadlines.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in H&S policies and procedures.
  • Computer literate
  • Previous experience working in a Mechanical Assembly role in a manufacturing environment
