Electrician

We have a excellent opportunity for a approved Electrician with a reputable and ever growing Mechanical and Electrical Company.

Base Location: Nottingham or Derby (must be within reach of sites across the central UK)

Working Pattern: 37hr/week

Day to day duties:

  • Supervising specialist sub-contractors on site
  • Carry out annual electrical maintenance and inspections on MOD bases
  • Build and manage small electrical jobs in-house
  • Escort subcontractors onto MOD sites when required
  • Carrying out maintenance tasks and repairs
  • Completing small electrical upgrades on a national scale
  • Taking part in diagnosing faults, and fixing faulty equipment if needed
  • Changing, maintaining and testing of equipment to prevent any future issues
  • Ensuring we deliver outstanding service to our clients and the general public
  • Working to strict safety guidelines and regulations
  • You will be working in a different site nearly every day
  • If no visits are booked, the role involves remote admin/report writing
  • Fully flexible to travel and stay away when required (all travel, accommodation, and expenses covered)
  • Travel will take place during the working day

Requirements-

  • ECS Skills Card
  • BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Electrical Technical Certificate Level 3
  • Electrical Installation NVQ 3
  • Electrical Inspection, Testing and Certification
  • We do need you to have a full UK Driving Licence as we cover a wide range of locations
  • Permit To Drive
  • Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
  • Emergency First Aid at Work

Would also be good to hold a security clearance or BPSS, a SC clearance will need to take place if you do not have one already.

The following requirements would be beneficial:

  • IPAF/PASMA working at heights training
  • Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
  • Fire Alarm Fundamentals
  • It would be a benefit if you have a good knowledge of the 18th Edition
  • Hold SMSTS to put sub-contractors to work
  • MATS Tower Climber
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office app

  • Van, fuel card, PPE, laptop, and phone
  • Electrical test kits, earthing gear, working-at-height harnesses
  • Must have own general hand tools

Long term temporary contract for 1 year min.
