Yu-Fen: “Working with Carbon60 has been a rewarding experience! I've gained valuable knowledge about the recruitment industry and how they expertly match talent with opportunities, ensuring a great experience for both candidates and employers."

Kartpaga: “My experience with Carbon60 has been highly enriching. The research project allowed me to engage with industry experts and work on a project that deepened my understanding of key industry processes. The point of contact was supportive, and the work environment fostered personal and professional growth.”

2. What have you learned from this experience?

Yu-Fen: “From this experience, I've learned two key things: One is that the UK staffing and recruitment industry is much more advanced compared to Taiwan. My work experience gave me a chance to learn different practices and strategies that were outside my original understanding.

“Secondly, I gained insight into how crucial email automation marketing is for engaging both candidates and clients effectively. Proper execution not only strengthens relationships but also significantly contributes to business growth.”

Kartpaga: “I learned to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world industry standards, particularly in data analytics, where I had the opportunity to understand the impressions of existing user experience and strategies KPIs for future email marketing campaigns. Additionally, I gained insights into how teams collaborate in a fast-paced environment, honing my communication skills.

3. To you, what was the most important part of this learning experience?

Yu-Fen: “The most important part of this learning experience was understanding how email automation plays a strategic role in the staffing and recruitment industry, unlike Taiwan where its focus is mainly on e-commerce. In the staffing and recruitment sector, email automation marketing builds personalised relationships with both candidates and clients, helping to maintain engagement and nurture long-term connections.”

Kartpaga: “The most important part was gaining hands-on experience and seeing how industry professionals navigate through each phase of an event. It gave me a clearer understanding of how the theories I’ve studied, along with communication styles and data evaluation for projects, can be implemented to deliver results in real-world situations.”

4. What challenges did you encounter during this experience? How did you respond?

Yu-Fen: “One challenge I encountered was the lack of sufficient knowledge about email automation marketing from my academic background. To address this, I relied on guidance from the Digital Marketing Manager at Carbon60, who provided valuable insights and resources. Their advice on how to search for and collect the necessary information helped me quickly adapt and improve my understanding of email automation marketing strategies.”

Kartpaga: “The Digital Marketing Manager, made it easy for me to understand and work towards each task. They ensured the tasks were perfectly proportionate. I learned to prioritise tasks effectively and rely on the expertise of the reporting contact’s feedback to ensure that all project deliverables were met on time.

5. Do you feel like this experience has given you the opportunity to see what it is like to work in the industry? If so, please explain why.

This experience helped me understand how these strategies contribute to business growth, offering a clear view of the industry's operations and challenges.”

Kartpaga: “Absolutely. The experience provided an authentic glimpse into the industry's day-to-day operations. Working on an actual project allowed me to see the workflow, from planning to execution, and how professionals manage time and resources efficiently.”

6. What is, in your opinion, the most important takeaway from this experience?
